... I do believe Samura-san when he says that he won't let them use Kumeyuri. [though that entire conversation he had with saber probably takes on a different tone now when you realize uruha was talking about his murderer and not an ally—not anymore.] And I don't think... Samura-san's plan is necessarily wrong, from a pragmatic perspective.
But I intend to return if I can, and we've both decided what we stand by.
I think there is just something about... holding your hand out to someone and thinking you are walking the same path, only to find out that it's been diverging all along.
... Yeah. Looking back, maybe it was naive of me not to realize that Samura-san and I weren't walking the same path. [the irony is that their clash is born from the same root—having no attachment to life left but their guilt. just the way it's manifested is so, crucially different.] But for as long as I've known him, he was never one to let others in.
... Right now, assuming I don't return, the only Enchanted Blade that the Hishaku can use is Kumeyuri, but someone wielding an Enchanted Blade for the first time would stand no chance against him.
And one of Samura-san's specialties, through Tobimune, is detecting the use of spirit energy, so it's highly unlikely they could assassinate the other Sword Bearers and activate the other Enchanted Blades behind his back. He'd probably just kill them on the spot if they tried.
[ they supposed that is some sort of blessing, if the other group were also enemies, but this still doesn't really seem like a positive that someone who is that strong is planning on killing all of your friends. ]
The other Sword Bearers? I haven't had any contact with them since before we went into hiding. Even with Samura-san, this was the first time I'd seen him in years.
But I imagine with Samura-san going rogue, the Kamunabi will increase security or change their hiding locations.
... It wasn't how I was expecting to die either. [who actively thinks they're going to die via betrayal, really.] But all we can do is proceed forward, even if it's not a happy path.
[knowing that if he manages to return to life, most likely he and samura will clash again, and the "best" scenario is...]
If nothing else, I'd rather spare Rokuhira-san's son from having to cut Samura-san down.
Chihiro. I didn't know of his existence or meet him until recently—I think he was born around the end of the war? But it meant that Rokuhira-san wasn't alone during his years in hiding.
He's a good kid. You can tell he's his father's son.
He's the wielder of an Enchanted Blade—the seventh and final one that Rokuhira-san created after the war. So he's one of the only people who remotely stands a chance against Samura-san.
[but, like, barely. pragmatically uruha, if he can get back kumeyuri, would be a better option just for that reason alone.]
I believe that he could steel his resolve and do the deed. But from the sound of it, he grew up hearing stories about us, the Sword Bearers, from his father. He shouldn't have to.
... that's understandable. The youth really shouldn't be forced into these sorts of things. They get robbed of what should be a meaningful time for them.

it startles them, even though they are fully aware that uruha had died to come here. but witnessing it is... different. ]
... you were betrayed?

You could say that. I didn't see it coming.
[although there's no real bitterness in his voice either—just resignation towards the circumstances.]

[ they go quiet, unsure of what to say. ]
You did mention how your enemy could get your sword with your death before...
[ but this seems like a much more immediate problem now. ]

I wish you the best of luck. It's never easy, when you have to stand against someone you once fought with.

Convictions are par for the course for what we do. ... Just the reality is that your beliefs may not be the same as those you care about, it seems.

So I do think his odds are good.

This really is a difficult situation. I did assume you had died in battle, but...

It would fall to him then, though? Do you think he could handle it, if it came to ti?

I don't think he'd have even set down this path if his father hadn't been murdered... so you're right.
